EBC Student Ministries

Let's face it, it's always been tough to be a teenager. Moving from childhood with virtually no responsibility and no independence to adulthood with ever-increasing responsibility and independence is no easy transition, no matter how you slice it. But most people would agree that it's even harder to be a teenager in today's world than it's ever been before. There is so much pressure placed upon teens today - not just the typical peer pressure that's always been there, but pressure from uncertainty within the world and our own nation with issues like national security and the economy, pressure to conform to and tolerate changing morality in society, and pressure to keep up with rapidly changing technology and communication such as texting, facebook, etc., and all of the moral and ethical dilemmas they create.

At EBC, we recognize the challenges facing today's teens and do our best to equip them to meet these challenges using the unchanging resources of God and His Word. Each week, our youth meet on Wednesday nights at 6:00 pm for our "Catch the Fire... Keep the Fire" Youth Meeting. This youth meeting is an hour long Bible study focused on issues most important to teens. We invest in our teens by giving them solid Christian books to study and read in preparation for this study. On Sunday mornings at 9:30 our teens are again challenged from God's Word in our Teen Guys and Teen Girls Sunday School classes.

Another way that we try to help our teens meet the challenges of today's world is to provide social activities for them. This helps teens to know that they are not alone in the struggles they face and helps them build friendships with others who are trying to stand for God too. Our monthly youth activities are on the last Saturday night of the month during the high school football season, and on the last Friday of the month for the rest of the year. Please check our calendar for details on upcoming youth events.
